Wildfires in British Columbia: Fleetwood fire under control

The Fleetwood wildfire, located north of Harrison Mills near the Sts’ailes community, has been downgraded to under control. The B.C. Wildfire Service reports the 2.5-hectare fire is unlikely to expand beyond its current borders.

In the broader Agassiz-Harrison area, two other wildfires remain active. The Tretheway Creek fire on the northwest side of Harrison Lake is under control, but the 18-hectare Twin Lakes wildfire near Statlu Creek remains out of control. Despite its status, the Twin Lakes fire did not grow on Monday.

All three regional fires are believed to be human-caused. Across British Columbia, there are currently 102 active wildfires, with five having started within the last 24 hours.
