Wildfires in Tendilla and Culleredo trigger emergency responses in Spain

Two separate brush and forest fires in Spain have prompted emergency responses and caused health concerns.

In Tendilla, a fire involving low vegetation and stubble near residential areas on Tenerías Street resulted in five men suffering from smoke inhalation. Three individuals, aged 51, 57, and 65, were stabilized and transported by ambulance to the Guadalajara University Hospital for medical evaluation. Two other men, aged 46 and 57, were treated at the scene. Emergency responders included firefighters from the Sacedón Park, regional forest brigades, and the Civil Guard.

In Culleredo, a fire broke out in Monte Costa near Alvedro Airport during pyrotechnic displays for local patron saint festivities. The blaze necessitated the deployment of four rural medium helicopters, eight brigades, and several ground units. While the fire did not reach homes in the nearby Cillobre area, dense smoke led to precautionary evacuations for some residents. Local authorities reported that the fire was brought under control, and airport operations remained unaffected.
