Wildfires threaten nature parks and villages in Bahşılı
Wildfires have broken out in the Bahşılı district, specifically affecting the Çamlıca (formerly Hodar) and Karaahmetli regions. In Çamlıca, a fire in the Bağlar area spread through dry grass and shrubland, damaging dozens of hectares of vegetation and numerous saplings. Local villagers assisted firefighting and forestry teams with tractors and water tankers to prevent the flames from reaching residential areas.
A separate fire in the Karaahmetli village area threatened the Karaahmetli Nature Park and nearby homes. Following reports of heavy smoke, fire departments from Kırıkkale and Yahşihan, alongside forestry officials, coordinated a response to stop the flames from entering the protected nature park or residential settlements.
Following these incidents, experts have highlighted the importance of land management and controlled grazing to reduce the load of flammable dry grass in these areas, especially during dry seasons.
