Wildlife centers release rehabilitated birds in Spain and the US

Wildlife rehabilitation centers in Spain and the United States have successfully released rescued birds back into their natural habitats.

In Mancha Real, Spain, technicians from the CREA Quiebrajano Endangered Species Recovery Center released a female Eurasian eagle owl. The bird had been rescued from a waste pond at the Fuerte del Rey landfill in August. Its recovery process involved cleaning liquid grease from its plumage and undergoing rehabilitation in an outdoor enclosure to reach optimal health.

In Pennsylvania, USA, the Aark Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center released a great blue heron. The bird was rescued after becoming entangled in fishing line, which restricted its ability to fly and stand. Following weeks of treatment for abrasions and bruising, the heron was returned to the wild.
