Wildlife encroachment increases in Italy's Veneto region
Wild animals, including wolves, bears, and wild boars, are increasingly entering residential areas in the Veneto region of Italy. Recent sightings have been reported in Torri del Benaco near Lake Garda, the Euganean Hills, and the Asiago Plateau.
In Torri del Benaco, footage shared by regional officials shows groups of wild boars walking through old town streets. In the Euganean Hills Natural Park, wild boars have caused significant issues, including damaging vineyards containing high-quality grape varieties shortly before the harvest season. The animals appear to be moving from forests into populated areas, likely in search of food.
