Wildlife presence sparks safety and sanitation concerns in Tuscany

Residents and local officials in Tuscany are raising alarms over the increasing presence of wild animals near residential areas. In San Mauro, Signa, frequent wolf sightings and recent predations, including the destruction of a poultry farm, have led local Fratelli d’Italia representatives to call for concrete containment actions, arguing that current regional wildlife plans fail to address the risks posed by wolves approaching human settlements for food.

Simultaneously, in Rosignano Marittimo, residents of the Vignone area are launching a petition due to a surge in wild boar activity. Citizens report that boars frequently roam near homes and roads, causing traffic hazards and overturning trash bins nightly. The situation has prompted calls for urgent intervention from municipal and regional authorities to address growing concerns regarding road safety, urban hygiene, and general livability.
