Wildlife sightings recorded in Brazil

In Bonito, Mato Grosso do Sul, photographer Marauan Monteiro used a drone to document three large anacondas in the Sucuri River. While initially searching for a pair of snakes believed to be in a reproductive period, the expedition revealed three healthy, large-scale reptiles. Monteiro noted that the animals appeared in better physical condition than specimens he had documented in previous assignments.

In Rondônia, content creator Jean Santana encountered a juvenile harpy eagle during a hike in Machadinho d’Oeste. Experts, including Carlos Tuyama from Projeto Harpia Brasil, identified the bird as a young harpy eagle based on its plumage. The specialist suggested the bird's proximity to the human visitor might be due to its youth and lack of immediate recognition of humans as a threat, noting that a nest may be located nearby.
