Brazilian political candidates face various campaign controversies

Several political incidents involving candidates in Brazil have drawn significant attention. In Mato Grosso, state deputy Valmir Moretto faced a campaign crisis after his wife, Maristela Moretto, publicly announced she would not vote for him, citing disagreements with his political alliances and character.

In the Distrito Federal, YouTuber and federal deputy candidate Wilker Leão was involved in a physical confrontation at the University of Brasília (UnB). Following an alleged non-consensual sexual gesture from a student, Leão reacted by kicking the individual. The Novo party issued a statement repudiating the gesture while condemning all forms of violence.

Additionally, a confrontation occurred between two PL candidates in the Distrito Federal, Mariana Naime and Luiza Cunha, during a gathering for supporters of Jair Bolsonaro. The dispute, which involved accusations of physical aggression and defamation, resulted in police reports being filed by the involved parties.
