Will Ashcroft mocks All-Australian selectors after Lions premiership

Brisbane Lions player Will Ashcroft has used social media to criticize his omission from the All-Australian team following the club’s third consecutive premiership victory. After leading the Lions to a seven-point win over Fremantle in the grand final, the 22-year-old shared an AI-generated image on Instagram featuring himself, brother Levi Ashcroft, and Lachie Neale.

Ashcroft captioned the post, “Grateful to finally get my blazer four weeks late,” and added the phrase “Stay mad” accompanied by clown emojis. Despite being named in the initial 46-player squad, Ashcroft was not selected for the final 23-man All-Australian team.

In previous interviews, Ashcroft noted that the snub served as motivation during the finals series. He described his disbelief regarding the selection decision but emphasized his primary focus remains on winning premierships and contributing to the club’s success.
