Will Hoge and Dave Hause discuss music and faith at Mile of Music Festival
Songwriters Will Hoge and Dave Hause participated in a live recording of the Rolling Stone podcast, ‘Nashville Now’, during the Mile of Music Festival in Appleton, Wisconsin. The artists discussed the intersections of rock and roll, Americana, and cultural commentary through live performances and storytelling.
Hoge addressed the inspiration for his song ‘Whose God Is This?’ from his 2022 album ‘Wings on My Shoes’, noting his frustration with perceived hypocrisy within the Nashville music industry regarding religious values.
Hause, formerly the frontman of the Philadelphia punk band The Loved Ones, discussed the stylistic connections between punk and country music, citing The Clash as a bridge between genres.
Regarding recent work, Hoge released the album ‘Sweet Misery’ and the track ‘The Epstein Files’. Hause released ‘…and the Mermaid’ in 2025 and is currently working on a three-album project re-recording Loved Ones songs with his brother, Tim Hause, alongside new material including the tribute ‘King of Madness’.
