Will Johnson faces potential season-ending neck injury

Arizona Cardinals starting cornerback Will Johnson may miss the remainder of the 2026 NFL season due to a neck injury sustained during a 31-7 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Head coach Mike LaFleur confirmed the injury during a Monday press conference, stating, “Will’s got a neck — potentially could miss the whole season.”

The injury occurred in the fourth quarter following a collision with Seahawks running back Emanuel Wilson. While specific details regarding potential surgery have not been released, Johnson is expected to be placed on injured reserve.

The loss is a significant blow to the Cardinals' secondary, as Johnson, a 2025 second-round pick from Michigan, had established himself as a starter. To address the vacancy, the team may look to veteran Starling Thomas, whom LaFleur noted is in a good physical and mental state to step in.
