AEW's Will Ospreay and Tony Khan discuss title responsibilities and Skydance partnership

AEW World Champion Will Ospreay has addressed several aspects of his career and the promotion's future. Ospreay expressed that holding the world title is a serious responsibility and noted his commitment to AEW despite recurring questions regarding a potential move to WWE. He also expressed interest in pursuing acting roles, specifically mentioning the Netflix adaptation of ‘Assassin’s Creed’.

Regarding the roster, Ospreay shared his desire to face Adam Copeland in a singles match before Copeland’s planned retirement in 2027, citing Copeland's support during Ospreay's recovery from neck surgery. Additionally, Ospreay's recent match against Kenny Omega received praise from WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash.

On the corporate side, AEW President Tony Khan confirmed positive discussions with David Ellison of Skydance regarding the company's future. Khan noted that the merger involving Warner Bros. and Paramount could provide more resources and exciting opportunities for AEW. While Khan expressed optimism, analyst Dave Meltzer cautioned that while current television placements on TBS and TNT appear stable for the immediate future, long-term certainty depends on future business decisions made by the new leadership.
