Will Ospreay discusses fears following neck fusion surgery
Professional wrestler Will Ospreay has opened up about the psychological challenges he faced while recovering from neck fusion surgery. In the latest installment of the All Elite Wrestling (AEW) series ‘Rebuild & Destroy’, Ospreay discussed his fear that he might not return to his previous performance levels.
Ospreay admitted to being ‘genuinely scared’ of returning to the ring at even 50% of his former capacity. He noted that while his primary goal is to remain a decent person and father, the ability to wrestle is what provides him with happiness and a sense of purpose. He also mentioned that seeing other wrestlers sidelined by similar procedures had impacted his confidence during the recovery process.
Following positive medical scans, Ospreay has been cleared to return to action and is scheduled to compete in the main event of All In: London, where he has the opportunity to compete for the AEW World Championship.
