Will Ospreay eyes major AEW match against Ilja Dragunov

AEW World Champion Will Ospreay has expressed interest in a high-profile match against Ilja Dragunov, following reports that the former WWE star has signed with All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

In an interview on ‘The Takedown’ on SI, Ospreay described Dragunov as a ‘complete anomaly’ due to his unique level of intensity. Although the two have appeared on the same shows and Dragunov previously performed for wXw, they have never shared a ring. Ospreay suggested that if the promotion builds both athletes on separate sides of the roster, a singles match between them could be a ‘big money-drawing’ main event capable of headlining shows globally.

Speculation regarding Dragunov’s arrival at AEW has been further fueled by social media activity from AEW wrestler Kyle Fletcher, whose recent posts were interpreted by fans as confirming the signing.
