Will Ospreay to defend AEW World Title in inaugural Clockwork Carnage match

AEW World Champion Will Ospreay is set to defend his title at the upcoming AEW WrestleDream in a first-of-its-kind match called the ‘Clockwork Carnage’ match. Created by Ospreay, the match combines elements of a Casino Gauntlet and an Iron Man match, featuring eight competitors who enter at three-minute intervals. Once all participants have entered, a 15-minute countdown begins, and the winner is determined by the highest number of pinfalls or submissions.

Ospreay enters the event as champion following a successful title defense against Kazuchika Okada at AEW Grand Slam: France. He will be joined in the match by Samoa Joe, who secured his spot by defeating ‘Jungle’ Jack Perry.

Ospreay has expressed a desire to incorporate more sports-based storytelling and presentation into his championship reign, citing inspiration from major boxing events and international sporting competitions like the World Cup.
