Will Reeve announces remission from testicular cancer
Will Reeve, an ABC News correspondent and son of the late actor Christopher Reeve, has announced that he is cancer-free following a battle with an aggressive form of testicular cancer. Reeve, 34, shared his experience on ‘Good Morning America,’ noting that he first discovered a tender lump in April, shortly after his marriage to Amanda Dubin Reeve.
After an ultrasound confirmed a mass, Reeve underwent an orchiectomy in May. He was subsequently diagnosed with embryonal carcinoma, which led to a second six-hour surgery in June to remove dozens of abdominal lymph nodes. To mitigate a high risk of recurrence, he completed two cycles of chemotherapy, enduring side effects such as bone pain, night sweats, and blood clots.
Reeve stated he decided to go public with his diagnosis to serve as a warning to others, inspired by the advocacy work of his late parents, Christopher and Dana Reeve. A medical review in early September confirmed that the cancer is no longer detectable.
