Will Warren earns relief win as Yankees prepare him for postseason role

New York Yankees pitcher Will Warren earned a win in relief during the second game of a doubleheader against the Baltimore Orioles, securing a 6-3 victory at Yankee Stadium. Warren pitched 3.2 shutout innings, allowing no walks and striking out seven batters to finish the season with an 11-6 record and a 3.92 ERA.

Following the game, Yankees manager Aaron Boone indicated that Warren will transition from the starting rotation to a relief role for the upcoming postseason. While players like Gerrit Cole and Carlos Rodon are projected for starting assignments, the team intends to utilize Warren from the bullpen to provide depth. Warren noted that adjusting to the relief role is a new challenge, as the adrenaline and pitching approach differ from his typical starts.
