WILLER EXPRESS waives cancellation fees for weather-impacted bus trips

WILLER EXPRESS has officially announced a policy to waive cancellation fees for highway bus trips designated as “conditional operation” during severe weather, such as typhoons or heavy snow. This policy allows passengers to cancel and receive a full refund based on their own judgment even before a formal cancellation of the service is confirmed.

The initiative applies specifically to trips flagged as “conditional operation” within the company’s “WiLL” reservation system. This status indicates that while the bus is currently scheduled to run, there is a possibility of cancellation due to changing weather or road conditions. The company aims to reduce the burden on travelers who must often decide whether to change accommodation or travel plans while waiting for official service updates.

WILLER EXPRESS has been testing this system since January 2026, utilizing it during heavy rain events in Chiba and Nagoya. The service requires no prior application, additional fees, or options. Even if the bus eventually completes its scheduled route, passengers who cancel during the conditional period will not be charged a penalty.
