Willer Tomaz investigated for money laundering and property dispute

Lawyer Willer Tomaz is at the center of multiple investigations by the Brazilian Federal Police and the Supreme Federal Court. Authorities are examining suspicions of money laundering and asset concealment involving Senator Flávio Bolsonaro. During a search at a hangar in Brasília Airport used by Tomaz's aviation companies, investigators discovered a secret compartment equipped with a money-counting machine.

Simultaneously, Tomaz is embroiled in a high-profile dispute with footballer Richarlison over a luxury property on Ilha Comprida, Angra dos Reis. Richarlison claims he purchased the estate for approximately R$ 10 million in 2020, but alleges the property was seized through judicial maneuvers involving Tomaz and Flávio Bolsonaro. President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has requested a Federal Police investigation into the circumstances of the property transfer.

Financial scrutiny has also intensified following reports from the Ministry of Finance. Tomaz was identified as the largest bettor in Brazil in 2025, with approximately R$ 5 billion in betting transactions. The Ministry of Finance is investigating potential failures in anti-money laundering protocols by the betting platform Blaze, noting atypical transaction patterns, including rapid-fire deposits and withdrawals.
