William Azaroff withdraws from Vancouver mayoral race
William Azaroff, representing the OneCity party, has withdrawn from the Vancouver mayoral race to consolidate progressive support. His decision aims to fulfill a commitment to present a single progressive candidate to challenge incumbent Mayor Ken Sim and the ABC Vancouver party.
Azaroff has endorsed Green Party councillor Pete Fry as the unified progressive candidate. This move follows the recent withdrawal of COPE candidate Stephanie Allen. While Azaroff is stepping down from the mayoral contest, OneCity intends to continue campaigning for seats on the city council, school board, and park board.
Mayor Ken Sim faces several remaining challengers, including Kareem Allam of the Vancouver Liberals and Colleen Hardwick of TEAM for a Livable Vancouver.
