William Gomes sidelined by ankle injury at FC Porto
FC Porto winger William Gomes has suffered a grade 2 ankle sprain in his right ankle during a match against Marítimo. The 20-year-old Brazilian player was carried off the pitch on a stretcher during the 55th minute of the game.
While the club has not specified the exact duration of his absence, the injury is expected to sideline him for at least two weeks. This will cause him to miss upcoming Champions League fixtures against Betis and PSV Eindhoven, as well as the domestic league match against Gil Vicente.
Gomes has recorded two goals and two assists in 10 matches across all competitions this season.
