William Saliba celebrates Arsenal Premier League triumph, silences critics

Defender William Saliba said Arsenal’s Premier League title has put an end to the jokes and doubts that followed the club’s recent second‑place finishes. In an interview he recalled earlier criticisms of the team’s style and his own loan spells, noting that “when you win, you shut them up.” Saliba highlighted Arsenal’s defensive solidity – conceding only 27 goals – and his own contribution of over 3,800 minutes in two seasons, a return on the €30 million spent on him in 2021. He also looked ahead to representing France at the upcoming World Cup, aiming for his first international trophy.

The title marks Arsenal’s first league crown in 20 years, ending a long drought and reinforcing the club’s resurgence under manager Mikel Arteta. Saliba’s remarks underline both personal vindication after years of loan moves and the collective achievement that has quieted sceptics.
