William Shatner addresses rumors of returning as Captain Kirk
William Shatner has addressed online rumors regarding his potential return to the role of Captain James T. Kirk in the 'Star Trek' franchise. Taking to social media, the 95-year-old actor stated that he would be delighted to consider bringing the character back to life if presented with a meaningful and interesting storyline that respects the spirit of the series.
Shatner clarified that he has no interest in reprising the role simply for the sake of nostalgia or to satisfy a rumor mill. He noted that, to date, no such worthy proposal has been made to him. This comes amid fan speculation fueled by 'Star Trek: Picard', which established in its narrative that Kirk's remains are stored at the Daystrom Institute.
