William Shatner to release new heavy metal album at age 95

At 95 years old, actor and ‘Star Trek’ legend William Shatner is releasing a new heavy metal album. The project’s title is derived from Shatner’s initial reaction to the genre proposal: ‘What the F is heavy metal?’.

Shatner, who has maintained a diverse recording career since 1968, stated he has grown to appreciate the energy and vitality of heavy metal. His band, The *uckers, previously debuted at Riot Fest 2026 in Chicago and has upcoming plans to tour in Florida and Australia.

In addition to the heavy metal project, Shatner is releasing ‘Love & Other Mysteries,’ a collaboration with country music artist Brad Paisley. His recent musical works include the 2024 album ‘So Fragile, So Blue,’ which was inspired by his spaceflight with Blue Origin.
