William Shatner's face was used for the Michael Myers mask
The iconic mask worn by Michael Myers in John Carpenter’s 1978 film ‘Halloween’ was created using a mask of actor William Shatner’s face. Production designer Tommy Lee Wallace noted that while searching for a creepy mask at a Hollywood Boulevard magic shop, he discovered a blank face mask located near Mr. Spock masks.
William Shatner confirmed the connection, stating that a clay death mask of his face had been made for ‘Star Trek’ to avoid the need for prosthetics. He remarked, “Somewhere along the line, someone got that mask and made a mask of it for [the holiday] Halloween.”
