William Spaaij joins cast of musical & JULIET

Musical actor William Spaaij has been added to the cast of the powerpop musical & JULIET. Starting October 24, he will perform the role of alternate William Shakespeare at the Beatrix Theater in Utrecht.

Spaaij will share the role with Levi van Kempen. This arrangement is intended to allow van Kempen the flexibility to balance his stage work with his career as a pilot. Spaaij, who has previously held lead roles in productions such as Lazarus, The Sound of Music, and Mary Poppins, expressed enthusiasm for the role, noting the unique opportunity to play a character sharing his name.

The production offers a contemporary twist on the classic Romeo and Juliet story, incorporating pop hits from the 1990s and 2000s.
