Williams' Carlos Sainz warns of struggles at Barcelona Grand Prix

Spanish Formula 1 driver Carlos Sainz said the upcoming Barcelona‑Catalunya Grand Prix will be "frustrating" for Williams, citing the team's ongoing reliability problems and the car's lack of aerodynamic grip. He noted that the FW48 is unlikely to be competitive at the high‑speed circuit and that the team must use the event to identify weaknesses.

In Friday's free‑practice sessions Sainz posted 13th and 14th fastest times, far from the Q3 threshold. He described the weekend as one of the toughest, with the car lagging a full second off the midfield pace in long runs, despite being competitive over short stints. Sainz emphasised the need to improve tyre‑phase performance and hopes the team can close the gap over the next two days.
