Williams drivers Albon and Sainz dismiss tension after Zandvoort collision

Alexander Albon and teammate Carlos Sainz have dismissed rumors of tension following their collision during the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort. The incident occurred at Turn 1 after Sainz, attempting to defend the inside line, was unsettled by a bump on the track, causing his car to lock and drift into Albon. While Sainz continued the race, Albon suffered significant floor damage, forcing an early retirement.

Albon noted that the pair shared breakfast the following morning to resolve the matter, stating that the situation was “made out to be bigger than it really was.”

However, technical experts have raised concerns regarding the impact on Williams Racing. Given the team's current struggles with an overweight chassis and strict budget cap limitations, the cost of repairing the damaged components could potentially hinder future development plans and the delivery of upgrades.
