Williams F1 team admits disappointing Silverstone weekend as Alonso slams modern F1 regime

Veteran driver Fernando Alonso used the Silverstone race to criticize the sport’s current technical direction, arguing that the hybrid‑electric power units and energy‑deployment rules have reduced the need for driver talent. He warned that the same challenges would continue at upcoming circuits such as Spa, noting that modern cars behave more like "recharging stations" than traditional race cars.
