Williams F1 team pledges stability for drivers Sainz and Albon

Williams team director James Vowles told drivers Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon that the difficult pre‑season the team endured will not be repeated. The 2025 campaign was hampered by a delayed chassis, a missed shakedown in Barcelona and a car estimated 20‑25 kg over the weight limit, leading to poor early race performance and reliability problems.

Vowles said he is "very comfortable" with the drivers' positions and emphasized the team's focus on developing the car under the new regulations, aiming for a stronger start in future races. While occasional points have been scored, rumors persist that Sainz and Albon could consider offers from more competitive teams if they arise, but the director reaffirmed his confidence in retaining them and improving the car's competitiveness.
