Williams Racing prepares technical updates to address car performance

Williams Racing is preparing for significant technical updates aimed at addressing performance issues and weight concerns. Team Principal James Vowles stated that the team could no longer continue with the current car configuration, which has been characterized by overweight, aerodynamic delays, and budget constraints. The team is working on a corrected package that includes weight reduction and aerodynamic improvements, with the goal of debuting these changes in Baku or potentially Malaysia.

Driver Carlos Sainz noted that the team is currently testing different setups to gather data for future seasons, even if it means sacrificing immediate qualifying results. Sainz indicated that the focus is on finding the right direction for the car's evolution rather than focusing solely on current weekend standings. While Vowles acknowledged the progress made by competitors like Aston Martin, he emphasized that Williams is focused on its own specific corrective path to bridge the gap in the midfield.
