Willits forum features Mendocino County and school board candidates

Candidates for the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors and the Willits Unified School District participated in a local forum at Little Lake Grange. For the District 3 supervisor seat, candidates Eric Hart and Buffey Wright Bourassa discussed fiscal management. Hart proposed seeking revenue through unpaid property taxes and grants, while Bourassa, a program manager for the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office, highlighted structural imbalances and declining reserves identified in a state audit.

The forum also featured candidates for the Willits Unified School District board, where discussions included differing perspectives on district finances. Additionally, candidates for two Willits City Council seats provided statements during the event.
