AEW Women’s World Champion Willow Nightingale has shared insights regarding her recent title win and her connection to All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Nightingale noted that the emotional weight of her victory over Thekla at AEW Redemption did not fully register until a subsequent Dynamite episode in Detroit. She cited the crowd reaction and a face-off with Mercedes Mone as the moments that solidified her new status.

Nightingale also discussed her affinity for AEW’s identity, describing the promotion as a ‘punk rock’ alternative that allows performers to be different from the standards set by other major organizations. She expressed that the company provided a space where she could find success and personal joy by doing things her own way.

Nightingale is set to defend her championship against Mercedes Mone this Sunday, August 30, at AEW All In, held at Wembley Stadium in London.
