Willy Kambwala makes Serie A starting debut for Como
Willy Kambwala made his first Serie A start for Como during the club's 2-0 victory against Sassuolo. The 22-year-old Congolese defender, who joined the club on loan from Villarreal, was selected for the starting lineup by manager Cesc Fabregas, playing alongside Marc-Oliver Kempf.
Before the match, Kambwala drew attention by spending several minutes alone in the center of the pitch reading a Bible during the pitch inspection. This moment of reflection preceded his first start following a brief appearance in a previous match against Fiorentina.
Kambwala's career includes stints in the youth systems of Sochaux and Manchester United, where he rose through the ranks before facing a significant ankle injury that sidelined him for approximately eleven months. He previously represented France at the Under-16 level.
