Wilmar Paredes wins second consecutive stage of Vuelta a Colombia

Wilmar Paredes of Team Medellín-EPM secured his second consecutive victory in the 2026 Vuelta a Colombia, winning the second stage held between San Agustín and Garzón. Following his initial win in the opening stage between Neiva and Pitalito, Paredes extended his lead in the general classification.

The 169.9-kilometer stage featured significant elevation changes, including the third-category Alto Portón climb. While several riders attempted breakaways during the race, the main peloton controlled the movements. The finish in Garzón was marked by a crash that affected the final sprint group, but Paredes successfully powered ahead to take the win.

Brandon Rojas and Felipe Bravo, both from GW Erco SportFitness, finished second and third respectively. Paredes currently holds a 10-second lead over Rojas in the general classification, with Kevin Castillo in third place, 14 seconds behind. The third stage is scheduled to take place between Garzón and Neiva.
