Wilson Grassi announces presidential candidacy for Democrata

Wilson Grassi, a 56-year-old veterinarian and businessman from São Paulo, has officially announced his candidacy for the Presidency of Brazil representing the Democrata party. His campaign platform is centered on animal welfare, specifically advocating for the implementation of public veterinary hospitals for dogs and cats.

Grassi will be accompanied by businesswoman Suêd Haidar as his vice-presidential candidate. This marks the first time the Democrata party, formerly known as the Partido da Mulher Brasileira (PMB), has fielded its own candidate for the presidency since its founding in 2015.

While Grassi has previously run for municipal and legislative offices under the PV and PRTB parties, he has not yet held an elected public office. His professional background includes serving as a counselor for the National Association of Small Animal Veterinarian Clinicians of São Paulo (Anclipeva-SP).
