Wilson Grassi files presidential platform with tax and security proposals
Presidential candidate Wilson Grassi, representing the Democratic Party, has filed his 58-page government platform, titled ‘Brasil em Primeiro Lugar’ (Brazil First), with the Superior Electoral Court. The plan is structured into 14 thematic axes and includes a roadmap for the first 100 days of a potential administration.
A central economic pillar is the creation of a ‘Federal Single Tax’ (IUF), an automatic levy on financial transactions designed to replace nine existing federal taxes on production, revenue, and payroll. To complement this, Grassi proposes exempting individuals earning up to five minimum wages (R$ 8,105) from personal income tax and eliminating employer social security contributions to reduce the cost of formal employment.
Regarding public safety, the platform proposes expanding the federal maximum-security prison system to isolate criminal leaders and using financial intelligence to confiscate assets. Grassi also suggests holding a national plebiscite to decide on a large-scale maximum-security confinement model, similar to the system used in El Salvador, while maintaining individual guarantees.
In health, the candidate advocates for a unified approach to human, animal, and environmental health, emphasizing zoonosis surveillance and the expansion of family health teams through stable federal funding.
