Wilson Grassi Júnior proposes Botox program and labor law changes

Brazilian presidential candidate Wilson Grassi Júnior, representing the Democrat Party, has introduced several unconventional proposals for his campaign. One central initiative is the ‘Meu Botox, Minha Vida’ program, which aims to provide free botulinum toxin applications to low-income women. Grassi argues the program is a matter of emotional and physical health, stating that improving self-esteem can positively impact productivity and personal relationships.

Beyond the cosmetic proposal, Grassi advocates for significant structural changes to the Brazilian political and labor systems. His platform includes the abolition of the Consolidação das Leis do Trabalho (CLT) and the elimination of parliamentary amendments, including ‘secret amendments.’ He proposes that deputies and senators relinquish public funding for advisors, vehicles, and health plans.

In a controversial move, Grassi suggests increasing the monthly salary of parliamentarians to R$ 1 million. He claims this restructuring, combined with cutting parliamentary expenses, could save approximately R$ 300 billion annually. He noted that some of these ideas were not included in his official government program to avoid internal party resistance.
