Wilson Sossion approved for Teachers Service Commission appointment

The National Assembly Education Committee has approved former Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Secretary General Wilson Sossion and Antonia Lentoijoni for appointment to the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).

During approval hearings, committee members questioned the nominees on teacher promotions, welfare, staffing, and the coordination between the TSC and the Ministry of Education. Sossion pledged to use his experience to ensure qualified teachers are promoted and to implement a system for rewarding contributions to the education sector. He also expressed a commitment to maintaining an ethical and motivated teaching workforce.

Lentoijoni, who cited 28 years of experience in the teaching service, addressed questions regarding teacher stagnation and professional development.
