Wimbledon 2026 launches with women's singles draw and betting promotions

The women's main draw at Wimbledon 2026 opened on Monday, 29 June, with the first half of first‑round matches spread over 18 courts at the All England Club. World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka began her campaign against Teodora Kostovic on Centre Court at 15:10 BST (16:10 CEST). The schedule also featured debuts for Jessica Pegula, Naomi Osaka, Mirra Andreeva, Coco Gauff and many others across the day’s 18 matches.

UK bookmakers rolled out special promotions for the fortnight, with Bet365 offering a £10 stake for £30 in free bets and a “tennis retirement rule” that settles bets if a player retires after the first set. BetMGM, Betfred, Betway and others provided similar welcome offers ranging from £40 to £50 in free bets, early‑payout options and odds boosts designed for Wimbledon’s grass‑court action.
