Wimbledon 2026 grants wild‑card doubles spots to Williams sisters and four Romanian players

The 2026 Wimbledon Championships, held in London from 29 June to 12 July, announced its first set of wild‑card entries for the doubles draws. Serena (44) and Venus (45) Williams received a joint wild‑card, marking the first time the American sisters will team up at Wimbledon since 2016.

Four Romanian women will also compete in the doubles competition: Sorana Cîrstea (36) partners with Russia’s Anna Kalinskaya; Gabriela Ruse (28) teams up with Ukraine’s Marta Kostyuk; and the pair of Jaqueline Cristian (28) and Irina Begu (35) have qualified together for the main draw.
