Wimbledon 2026 sees £34,000 in fines issued to 11 players for code violations

The All England Club released the Wimbledon 2026 schedule of play for Sunday, July 5, detailing matches across men's and women's singles, doubles, mixed doubles, junior and wheelchair events at the All England Lawn Tennis Club in London.

For the first half of the tournament, the club also published a sanctions list, imposing a total of £34,000 in fines on 11 players. Penalties covered audible obscenity, racket abuse and unsportsmanlike conduct. Notable fines included £5,600 for Bosnian Damir Dzumhur after an outburst against Britain's Arthur Fery, £5,600 for Frenchman Corentin Moutet for repeated racket abuse, and £3,700 for Hamad Medjedovic for audible obscenity. Several qualifiers received £1,800 fines for similar breaches. Venus Williams avoided a fine despite refusing a post‑match press conference, while her sister Serena escaped sanction after citing a knee injury.

The fines are part of the club’s effort to enforce conduct rules during the championship.
