Wimbledon sets record £64.2 million prize pool for 2026

The All England Club announced that the 2026 Wimbledon Championships will feature a record total prize fund of £64.2 million (about €74 million), a 20 % increase over the previous year. The rise makes Wimbledon the richest Grand Slam in tennis history.

Singles champions – both men’s and women’s – will receive £3.6 million each, while the runners‑up will earn £1.8 million. Prize money is also scaled for every round: first‑round losers get £80,000, second round £126,000, third round £185,000, fourth round £300,000, quarter‑finalists £480,000, semi‑finalists £900,000. Doubles winners (men’s, women’s and mixed) will take £760,000, £760,000 and £148,000 per pair respectively, with proportional payouts for earlier rounds.

The increase follows player protests earlier in the season demanding a larger share of tournament revenues. Wimbledon’s total purse now exceeds that of the US Open, French Open and Australian Open, and the club says the additional funds will also support early‑round participants and qualifying players.
