Marks & Spencer rolls out new chocolate‑strawberry‑pistachio sandwich as strawberry sarnie returns

Marks & Spencer has brought back its viral Red Diamond Strawberry & Creme sandwich and launched a limited‑edition Chocolate, Strawberry & Pistachio Creme Sandwich ahead of Wimbledon. The new sandwich pairs British strawberries with a pistachio‑cream filling and Fair‑trade Belgian chocolate spread on cocoa‑enriched sweetened bread, priced at £3.50, while the original returns at £2.80.

The product is the result of a £900 k investment by supplier Greencore, which opened a dedicated nut‑production line at its Northampton “fortress factory” to support the launch. The partnership is highlighted as part of M&S Food’s transformation strategy, aiming to scale innovative “food‑on‑the‑move” items.

Consumer reaction is split: social‑media posts praise the novelty, while some shoppers call the chocolate‑pistachio version “too far”. The sandwich follows a hugely successful first run that sold 75,000 units in five days and helped M&S be named the UK’s “Home of Picky Bits”, with 44 % of shoppers naming the retailer their go‑to for snack‑style products. The new offering is available for a limited time in M&S Foodhalls across the UK.
