Winchester, KY Rock the Block concert opens summer; White Rock, BC Jazz & Blues Festival set for June

The Bent Penny Band Revival headlined the opening night of Winchester’s Rock the Block concert series on May 15, drawing a large free crowd to Court House Square. Sponsored by the Winchester‑Clark Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, the event featured a lineup of local musicians and was supported by sound engineer Wallace “Gator” Harrison. Future Rock the Block dates are slated for June 12, July 10 and August 14.

The White Rock Jazz and Blues Festival will run June 3‑7 in the seaside city of White Rock, British Columbia. The free outdoor program includes performances at Miramar Village, Five Corners, Saltaire Amphitheatre and the waterfront Memorial Park. Ticketed intimate shows are scheduled for June 3‑4 at Caffe Artigiano and June 5‑6 at Blue Frog Studios, featuring acts such as Alex Browne and His Boulevardiers, Boney Fields, Harris & DeBray, Laura Crema, Bill Coon and others. Tickets cost $20 for the intimate shows and $58 for the Blue Frog Studio concerts; tickets and event details are available via the White Rock Business Improvement Association website.
