Windenergy Hamburg 2026 attracts 40,000 visitors amid industry growth

The Windenergy Hamburg 2026 trade fair, held from September 22 to 25, attracted over 40,000 international visitors and more than 1,600 exhibitors. Despite facing challenges such as high financing costs, supply chain constraints, and lengthy permit processes, the wind industry remains on a growth trajectory.

Key industry focuses included logistics, spare parts supply, and new drive concepts for maintenance. Participants highlighted the need for improved grid infrastructure and port capabilities to support larger offshore installations. To increase competitiveness and reduce dependence on specific raw materials, companies like Flender introduced technologies such as the ‘Winergy Genera’ generator, which operates without permanent magnets or rare earth elements. The 2026 event also featured a new dedicated section for energy storage and system integration.
