Windows 11 hardware requirements and bloatware management

Upgrading to Windows 11 requires meeting specific hardware and security criteria that extend beyond simple memory and storage capacity. A computer must possess a 64-bit processor with at least two cores and a frequency of 1 GHz or higher, though the specific CPU model must be on Microsoft’s official compatibility list. Minimum requirements also include 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage space.

Security features are critical for compatibility; systems must support UEFI, Secure Boot, and TPM 2.0. Failure to meet these specific hardware or firmware configurations can prevent an upgrade even if the device has sufficient storage.

To address the issue of preinstalled software, a new open-source tool called Winhance has been introduced. Unlike traditional methods that require complex PowerShell scripts and command-line knowledge, Winhance provides a graphical user interface to help users remove bloatware and customize Windows 11 with a few clicks.
