Windpark Egchelse Heide fund backs community projects in Peel en Maas

The Windpark Egchelse Heide has created a Windparkfonds that allocates €55,000–€60,000 each year to initiatives that improve livability, cohesion and sustainability in the Peel en Maas municipality of the Netherlands. Funding can support cultural activities such as music or theatre groups, make village events more accessible for seniors and low‑income residents, and finance green upgrades like LED lighting or replacing diesel generators. The programme also backs preservation of local heritage sites, for example historic road crosses, and encourages energy‑saving solutions in community facilities. By directing wind‑energy revenue into these projects, the fund aims to strengthen social ties and promote a greener environment for the area’s residents.

The municipality invites local associations, charities and volunteer organisations to submit proposals, offering a financial boost that turns the wind farm’s electricity production into lasting social value for the entire community.
