Southwestern Ontario sees housing dip and new tourism developments
Several developments are occurring across Southwestern Ontario. In the Windsor-Essex region, the housing market experienced a 12.6 per cent drop in sales during July compared to the previous year, with year-to-date listings also declining. Economic uncertainty regarding tariffs remains a factor for the area.
In tourism and culture, Point Pelee National Park has been ranked as the top stargazing destination in North America according to a private study. Additionally, a new guided bus tour has launched in Windsor to highlight the city's history and its role as an international border community. In St. Thomas, the city unveiled a new seven-metre sculpture titled ‘Imagination Station’ by artist Briony Douglas at the Yarmouth Yards industrial park.
