Wine House Hunter Valley acquired by Matt and Kylie White

Matt and Kylie White have acquired Wine House Hunter Valley in Pokolbin. Originally founded in 1987 as the Small Winemaker Centre, the establishment serves as an independent wine retailer for the Hunter Region.

The new owners aim to address a gap in the local wine-tasting experience. While the Hunter Valley is home to over 150 independent winemakers, many lack their own cellar doors. The Wine House intends to provide a centralized location where visitors can taste and purchase a hand-selected range of wines curated by merit rather than supplier volume deals.

This model is intended to support acclaimed independent labels, such as Silkman Wines, which has achieved significant industry recognition but has not operated its own cellar door.
